To infuse goodness into our popsicles and our community
Use simple joys to spark a movement
To keep finding creative ways to keep Edmonton cool (both literally and figuratively)
Tundee means “cold” in Gujarati. My family’s journey spans 3 continents (Asia, Africa, North America) and 4 countries (India, Kenya, Tanzania, Canada). My ancestors took risks, endured, and persisted to build a bright future, ripe with opportunity (did you catch that fruit pun there?). The name of this joyful endeavour is a tribute to these giants, whose wisdom and stories taught me how to move through this world with integrity, love, and kindness.
This land has been known by many names: amiskwacîwâskahikan (Beaver Hills House) by the Cree, ti odo (Many Houses) by the Nakota Sioux, and Amakowsis/Omahkoyis (Big Lodge) by the Niitsitapi. Settlers later named it Edmonton.
Tundee Treats is honored to bring joy to communities on the traditional territories of the nêhiyaw/Cree, Dené, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux, Nakota Isga/Nakota Sioux, Niitsitapi/Blackfoot, and Métis peoples.
As the first generation of my family born on these lands, I am grateful for the opportunities and safety they provide to me and the people I love.
I recognize the privilege to live, work, learn, grow, and play on these lands. I acknowledge the footsteps of Indigenous peoples who have marked these lands for centuries and continue to walk this earth today. I am committed to my journey of reconciliation and building equitable, decolonized futures.
